Enabling automatic startup on your PC

Have you ever wanted to automatically start your HP Desktop PC at some specified time? Easy enough. You can enable that in your BIOS. HP has provided some excellent instructions for that (below).

But on my HP EliteDesk G1, the BIOS mod by itself didn’t work. Here’s what you have to do.

You will first need to modify the “Power & sleep settings” in Windows 10. You can find it using the search bar beside the Start Menu.

Choose “Additional power settings” (found in the “Related settings” category)
Then select “Choose what the power button does”
Modify “Settings that are currently unavailable” by unchecking “Turn on fast startup (recommended)”

Only after you have done this, will changes made to your BIOS Power-On settings be successful.
